Saturday, June 8 is the day for the Pemberton Breeding Bird Survey.
In the morning all are invited to join the serious ornithologists to look at and identify the beautiful birds of our valley.
It’s part of the 2019 Bioblitz, in which humans head in out in force to unleash their wonder on the natural world and discover just how many different creatures we are lucky enough to share it with.
You can help out counting species from Whistler to Pemberton, even if you can’t make one of the events in person: For every observation you add to the dedicated Project called Whistler to Pemberton BioBlitz 2019 in iNaturalist (https://www.inaturalist.org/…/whistler-to-pemberton-bioblit…), you will be entered in our grand prize draw for a chance to win one of three fantastic prizes: $100 Gift Certificate to Nesters Market & Pharmacy – Whistler, a Ziptrek Ecotours Inc. Eagle Tour for Two, or a $100 Gift Certificate to the Bike Co.!

The June 8 Breeding Bird Survey group will meet at Mount Currie Coffee Company. Allen McEwan will be the local leader. A water bottle and a pair of binoculars are useful. If you do not have binoculars, give John Tschopp a call and he can lend you a pair.
Good birding to all!
