How often do we get to see the crown on a Kinglet ? The only time I ever seen one, was on a dead one. A few days ago there was a Kinglet in the Maple tree. These little birds move like fleas and are not easy to catch on camera. With the help of my trusted Canon SX 50 I managed a few frames by setting it on continuos shots. As you see, it was a Ruby-crowned Kinglet. A giveaway for a Ruby is the prominent white eye ring. The Golden-crowned Kinglet has no eye ring at all.
