Goat Mountain farm stand opens for one day only!

Farm stands and honour boxes are what defined Pemberton to me, for a while. But that was in 2015, before Erica Van Loon graduated from high school, before Riley and Michelle found another piece of property to rent, before Bathtub Garden’s flower fridge folded… I know that local eggs can be found, by those in the know; that little free libraries offer mental sustenance in unexpected places; and that the Friday Farmers Market is thriving…

Not to mention the pop-up Farmers Market and gardeners’ overgrow tables that Patricia Williams initiated at Mario’s on Main the other weekend (July 29) (watch the Lil’wat Nation Homestead page for the next one)… or Helmer’s (hopefully) annual fall farm mini-festival…

… but, correct me if I’m wrong, if you aren’t driving out to Birken and stopping by Willowcraft Farm, you probably need to be ordering a CSA harvest box to stumble upon fresh vegetables regularly.

Which is why I was excited to see that Goat Mountain Produce stand, at the end of Pemberton Meadows Road, before it turns off to the Hurley, is open for an encore celebrating on August 6. One day only. To stock up on farm fresh veggies. I suspect it may be a farm stand street party combination. 1pm – 8pm.

Erica still posts updates to her Facebook page and is selling potatoes, beets and carrots by the ten pound bag via online orders. But the e-comm revolution will stop for one day only, for some old-timey farm stand (tailgate) fun.

GOAT MOUNTAIN PRODUCE WILL BE OPEN AGAIN FOR 1 DAY (August 6)- the monday of August long. I will be in the same spot as the stand was with a pickup truck and loads of produce! Unfortunately it is too much work to haul the stand out for a day. The regular produce will be there: potatoes, beets, carrots, zucchini, kale, swiss chard as well as some new veggies: cauliflower, artichokes, summer squash, and herbs! Come by and say hi 🙂 I look forward to seeing some of you again!

There is Laughing Crow Organics road side stand. Stop there anytime we are driving past – usually on our way over the Hurley. Miss the Goat Mountain Stand too though.
