Make it to MADE, October 17, for a day of kidlet fun or an evening of grown-up art appreciation
The ever-evolving MADE, celebration of Music Art Dance and Expression, has added some new twists this year, so be sure to mark Saturday October 17 in the calendar and get your art-fix in. Under one roof, at the Pemberton Community Centre.
As Pemberton Arts and Cultural Council chair, Marnie Simon says:
Come be inspired by the culture of Pemberton and area, all under one roof, for one day. Meet artists, enjoy a drink, live music, dancing, photography, fineart, sculpture, dance performance, multi media and food.
This year, MADE is made up of two parts: Daytime. and Night-time.
The day time event is for the kidlets. (What a brilliant initiative! Given that the Whistler Children’s Festival is over 30 years old, I’m excited to see this kid-friendly MADE celebration kick off.

For the wee ones, from 0- 6, there will be a program from 10am til noon. This will be followed by lunch with a number of ethnic dishes to tempt you prepared by the members of the Pemberton Multicultural Network – lunch is by donation. More interactive art activities and entertainment will be held until 4pm.
A workshop in the REC is set up for teenagers to learn the basic of DJ equipment, and teens will also get a special preview of the “Board Room” exhibit of skis, snowboards & stand up paddle boards, action photography and art, curated by Vanessa Stark.
