The SLRD wants to hear your household garbage hacks and how you #lovethisplace

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District wants to hear your household garbage hacks, to coincide with National Waste Reduction Week, October 19-25 2015.

Starting with 7 simple strategies, they’re hoping to crowdsource the ultimate How To Guide for regional residents who love this place, and are willing to help move the dial on our landfill bloat.

1. Recycle first.

2. Buy bulk.

3. Shop at your local farmers’ market

4. Use reusable bags!  (and coffee cups, water bottles ….)

5. Create weekly meal plans.

6. Compost your food scraps

7. Buy less.

Share your stories, strategies, tips and photos for rolling through the region with a lighter footprint, at ZERO in on WASTE SLRD Facebook page, using #lovethisplace.

Participants posting photos during Waste Reduction Week (October 19th – 25th) will be entered into a contest for the chance to win a piece of upcycled ski art from www.skiheaven.ca.
