Shannon Story guestagrams for the Wellness Almanac

Last week, the Pemberton Area Economic Development Collaborative and the Pemberton  & District Area Chamber of Commerce announced that Shannon Story has been appointed as the Economic Development Project Manager to manage the 2 year grant to to establish the economic development landscape in the Pemberton Area and to develop a Community Economic Development Strategy & Action Plan which will include Nuk’w7ántal’ (“We help each other”) Community and Territory engagement.

Shannon has lived in the Pemberton area since 2000, so is known to many… but for those who don’t know her, or know her in one capacity, we invited her to take over the Wellness Almanac instagram account. She launched her takeover on Monday with a commitment to not filter her posts to perfection, but to show up, just as she is.

Happy Monday All! My name is Shannon and I’m taking over as your guest Instagrammer this week! If I haven’t met you, well let’s face it, it’s Pemberton so we will likely meet in person soon. I don’t know about you, but Instagram posts are sometimes hard to take because it makes everyones lives look so darn good and can leave the rest of us feeling boring, unadventurous and living a life in bad lighting with no filters to make us look really hot. I’m not going to do that this week. I’m going to expose you to the good, the bad and the just plain boring details of my weekly life. You will notice that my selfie from my dog walk this morning has no filter and my wrinkles are prominent and my eyes are still puffy from sleep. But hey, if you saw me at school drop of this morning, you already knew that. This is me! I’m a mother of two kids(a 15 year old boy and a seven year old girl), I’m a wife to my husband of 19 years). I’m a businesswoman. Having a fulfilling career is super important to me. We have lived in Pemberton for 19 years and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. This place is special and so are the people that live here. I’m looking forward to spending the week with you!
