When I left for a month, I was more worried about my parents. What would they do without me?Who would do my chores when I was gone? Would they even remember to feed the dogs? I went to France by myself for a month and got back a couple of weeks ago. I stayed with a nice family in a town called Lauris which is just about an hour away from Marseille

I went to lots of places around France with the family I was staying with and saw lots of cool stuff. They had a 16 year old son named Theo that I would hangout with a lot, and also with his friends. His friend’s family had goats and made goat cheese and milk. We went to their house one of the days and got to herd the goats from the place on the mountain where they kept the goats to their goat barn beside their house . It was a really cool experience. I got to pet the goats and the really cute puppies that would help herd the goats. The puppies that they had were new to herding but they were really good at it when we walked with them!

Another little adventure, that the family and I had, was going to this huge aqueduct! The aqueduct was really cool with a bridge that you could walk across to the other side and you could swim under it. On one side of the bridge there was this dark tunnel going through the mountain that you could walk in and on the other side was a path through a grape field. The water underneath the aqueduct was warm and nice to swim in.

One of the days Theo and I walked through the town Lauris. We went to the market and lots of little stores near the market. We found the skatepark and I did a bit of skateboarding while he did parkour! Theo and I went to this ice-cream shop that cooled us down from the day in the sun, I got lemon ice-cream and he got chocolate. All around the town were these cool little pathways leading to different parts of town and some of them you couldn’t even fit by standing up, you had to duck.

he cool thing about hiking in France is smelling all the herbs like rosemery and time. There's this cool place called "aillefroid" where you can camp and people go rock climbing and/or hiking, we went there for two days on the first day we went hiking for the day and then second day we went into a town but i forget the name of it. At the town we went to a pizza place and ate pizza while watching soccer, the pizza was really good but the pizza that I had with my family in Italy was way better!

On the last week that I had in France we went to Chamonix! We stayed in an apartment that you could see the mountain out of the window. On the second day there we took the gondola up to the first station and did a 4hour hike to the train station on the mountain, after we got to the train station we ate lunch then took the train down because we were all really tired, but Theo wanted to do the whole thing so he didn’t take the train and ended up beating us to the apartment because we had to wait such a long time in line. I had a really amazing time in France and now I’m more confident to travel to other places on my own!
