Riva Mireille Fisher – 1991 -2017
Riva Fisher, 25, passed away peacefully on September 18th at her home in Pemberton surrounded by family.
I am deeply saddened that future conversations with the wonderful and thoughtful Riva Fisher will now be entirely one-sided.
And I lament deeply that I will not have the chance to read more of her work over the years to come.
And am massively grateful that she agreed to share a little piece of her journey, and a big dose of her spirit, when she undertook a takeover of our instagram account.
I can only imagine the hole she leaves in the lives of so many people.
As a friend of hers so aptly shared: “Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.”
