Wellness Reads: the kick-off
You can tell a lot about someone from the books they've read. And you can tell a lot about a community based on what's trending on the library shelves. That's why I was so fascinated to spy the Pemberton & District Public Library's round-up of the most popular fiction and non-fiction books for 2014. Interesting pulse? … Continue reading Wellness Reads: the kick-off
Column: Why I Don’t Need Another Photo of my Sleeping Baby
There is a microsecond long window when a baby falls asleep that everything is right in the world. My personal victory today? Resisting taking a photo of that moment. The kid is 23 months old, so I already have approximately 700 photos of him sleeping, none of which have successfully managed to evoke the heart-swell … Continue reading Column: Why I Don’t Need Another Photo of my Sleeping Baby

In case it flew by for you, too, here's what you might have missed on the Wellness Almanac … Continue reading Wellness Round-up – January in Review

How about long table lunches or tango lessons, soup kitchen, outdoor church sessions, an art market, a summer long canoe carving project? The point of a brainstorm is to throw … Continue reading Brainstorm for the Barn, February 4 (and a Q+A with Dawn Johnson)
Winterfest Pemberton 2015 – updated event schedule for Sunday Jan 25, One Mile Lake
Winter has not been kind to Winterfest, (it just doesn't seem fair after all the effort put in to say "winterfest plans on thin ice") but the organising committee have done snow dances, rallied and reformatted the program for this weekend. A Pineapple Express has put the kaibosh on Winterfest's more frosty fun, but (in … Continue reading Winterfest Pemberton 2015 – updated event schedule for Sunday Jan 25, One Mile Lake
