We are 14 days and 12 poems in to an experiment in sharing sound with each other – the sound of our voices, offering something that has resonated or delighted or supported us – a poem, a quote, a thought, a song… and I’m happy to keep it going, and invite as many voices in to the chorus, as are willing to show up.
No-one has been hand-picked or selected or screened to be invited. I shared the idea with Mary and Kerry, who are two poetry-loving friends, whose voices I happen to love. And then ten more people responded, picking up the beat, and dropping little voice memos into my inbox, my Facebook, my phone text.
Every voice is welcome.
Are you tempted?
Share the why behind your pick. Or just let it stand alone.
It’s intentionally low-fi. My phone has a voice recording app. If yours doesn’t, let’s talk. We can find a way!
I read somewhere that art and poetry are psychedelic, psychoactive, in that they can change our perceptions, and so I am amusing myself thinking of this as a kind of daily micro dose of something that might help something shift in a more open-hearted, healed, connected, direction.
Send your selection to me at pembygrl@gmail.com. Together we could sing this year out in quite a beautiful way.
