The shindig of the year – PORCA’s fundraiser and silent auction, takes over the Legion on Saturday May 4. Since 2016, PORCA has grown steadily, and now boasts 610 members, enabling the club to donate $6010 to the Pemberton Valley Trails Association through membership dues and $2000 towards local trail maintenance.
The club aims to raise $5000 at this spring fundraiser – join the fun, bid on auction items, or donate some (email PORCA Fundraising Director Suki Cheyne at firstname.lastname@example.org with your donation.)
The club turns that money into magic: from spring clean up day to Buff Tuesday trail maintenance, Toonie Races, women’s rides, and events like the Pemberton Enduro, women’s Spud Crusher Enduro, MacKenzie Downhill Race and Lumpy’s Trifecta. They’ve also organized after-school youth bike camps, and plan to expand youth programming this year, and move ahead with plans to develop a mountain bike skills park with a pump track and skill development feature.
We’re so lucky to have these humans working so hard to build community and celebrate trails. Join them on May 4, and contribute a little to the efforts that make Pemberton such an amazing place to ride bikes.
