First the Boomerang Bag. Then the Boomerang coffee mug. And now this. Fran Dickinson, of Frances Felt, leader of the no-more-waste army (Pemberton division), (feel free to sign up and join the mission), has made poppy pins that she will gift to those at the Circle Craft Christmas market, which happens to be taking place this Sunday, on Remembrance Day.
Last year, the Pemberton Legion raised $13,589.90 from their Poppy campaign, which provide $1500 for bursaries and $5355.56 for Veterans Grants. You can contribute to the 2018 campaign by purchasing a poppy or a wreath, but you can also contribute without buying a wreath, and simply make a donation. Pemberton’s Remembrance Day ceremony takes place at the Pemberton Legion, 7442 Prospect Street, on Sunday, November 11, 2018. The Parade will assemble at the Fire Hall between 10:15 and 10:30am. The Service of Remembrance and Laying of Wreaths will take place in front of the Legion between 10:50am and 11:30am. Members of the Legion and guests attending the ceremony are invited into the branch for refreshments and a light lunch following the ceremony. All are welcome.
