Lil’wat Nation and Murphy Construction win 2018 BC Economic Development Award

On June 12, 2018, the BC Economic Development Association (BCEDA) and FortisBC announced the winners of the 2018 BC Economic Development Awards. There, Lil’wat Nation and Murphy Construction won the BCEDA Community Project Award, for a community of less than 20,000, for work that “has implemented various economic development initiatives that provide economic benefits to a community or region.”

Bridging the Gap: Building Houses and Capacity in the Lil’wat Nation”

Murphy Construction posted, “It’s been an amazing couple of years building homes for members of the Lil’wat Nation with members of the Lil’wat Nation, and we want to thank our amazing team that helped build these homes – that are above and beyond B.C. building code standards – from the ground up. It’s only onward and upward from here, and we can’t wait to see all of our team deliver on PROJECT NEXT. Thank you British Columbia Economic Development Association – BCEDA for recognizing BC’s best economic development programs, partnerships and marketing initiatives.”
