I went to lots of places around France with the family I was staying with and saw lots of cool stuff. They had a 16 year old son named Theo that I would hangout with a lot, and also with his friends. His friend’s family had goats and made goat cheese and milk. We went to their house one of the days and got to herd the goats from the place on the mountain where they kept the goats to their goat barn beside their house . It was a really cool experience. I got to pet the goats and the really cute puppies that would help herd the goats. The puppies that they had were new to herding but they were really good at it when we walked with them!

When I left for a month, I was more worried about my parents. What would they do without me?Who would do my chores when I was gone? Would they even remember to feed the dogs? I went to France by myself for a month and got back a couple of weeks ago. I stayed with a nice family in a town called Lauris which is just about an hour away from Marseille

Hello, my name is Telase Pascal of Lil’wat Nation. I currently work at the Lil’wat Employment and Training Resource Centre. I have been an Employment Counsellor for about five years. In my CDP (Career Development Practitioner) Training I have acquired skills to better serve my Lil’wat Nation community and along with the Lower Communities: Tipella, Skatin and Samahquam with resume assistance, job search and interview prep; and with group and individual training. The most favourite part of my job is helping others achieve their goals, seeing our community adapt to the ever changing labour market and overcome barriers together.

Entsa s srap7ul skwatsits lil’wat7ul. My name is Ruth Dick, Lil’wat Nation. My job title at the Lil’wat Employment and Training Resource Centre is Resource Room Coordinator. My job encompasses duties from Receptionist to Administrative Assistant and everything in between. I definitely have a variety of duties that keeps my days jumping. The training I got over the years include: Business office Training at VVI, Microsoft Computer Administration at NEC and Business Fundamentals at CapU (still working towards my diploma). My first job was as the Office Assistant in the Summer Student Program before I went into Grade 12. I worked for Canada Manpower at VVI in the Student Financial Services office. I have been Administrative Assistant in various departments for Lil’wat Nation, including: Secretary to Chief and Council and the Senior Administrator, Land and Resources and for Public Works. I was the Production Editor, Writer, Sales for Advertising and Newspaper Delivery Boy for Lil’wat7ul Ts’ila Tsa7 Newspaper; and wrote a column for the Whistler Question for a couple of years. There were other jobs but these ones listed relate to my current position.

Hello! My name is Linnea Ward, N’Quatqua First Nation. I have been an Employment Counsellor for two years+. I went through my Career Development Practitioner Training April to November 2016 through SASET and Douglas College in Lil’wat. I enjoy helping people, especially youth and hope that I can influence people to strive to be their best self. As an Employment Counsellor I do many different things. To name a few: I do intake on indivisible clients, from there I assist with their needs: whether it be updating or creating a new resume, cover letter, job application, uploading documents for emails or assisting in vocational funding packages for training. I also enjoy facilitating workshops. To name some I have done: Getting your L, Resume Writing, Interview Skills, Career Exploration and more. In closing, Thank you for reading and I hope to see your beautiful face in our office.
