Recipe: Warming Turmeric Tea

A lovely tea recipe from Pemberton’s Tadasana Yoga studio, that I stumbled upon, in pretty much the same way I stumbled upon this quote by their front door last week.

From an ayurvedic perspective, tumeric is a wonderful herb to increase in the Spring as we slowly move away from the dominance of Kapha dosha and into Pitta.

Simmer tumeric root (I like to add some ginger root in as well) for 5 – 10 minutes.

Poor water into your cup and add some raw honey or maple syrup.

Squeeze of lemon and a few twists of black pepper (black pepper helps to absorb the tumeric).

This recipe is warming and wonderful.  Helps to get the liver moving and shed it’s fatty layer from winter.

Tumeric is also one of the most powerful antioxidants and anti inflammatory super foods on our planet.
