Spring is in the air.
We’re excited to welcome the season of green shoots, rising rivers, snow melt, and awakening earth, with a regular column about gardening and growing things.
We’ve tapped into a range of local expertise and will feature posts from green thumb contributors: farmer and homesteader Michelle Beks, local organic flower growers Calida Grymaloski and Sam Casavant, and updates from all the growers and plot-holders at the Pemberton Creek Community Garden, thanks to Laura and Mike Zgud.
Michelle kicked things off 2 weeks ago with an Ode to the First Spring Egg! And tomorrow, Calida and Sam share some of their favourite spring annuals for a cutting garden.
The Wellness Almanac is a community-powered almanac, developed to help neighbouring communities share what we know about where we live.
It’s a celebration of place. An invitation to pay attention. An opportunity to discover common ground and celebrate unique differences.
If you have growing tips or a passion for gardening that you’d like to share, we welcome your contributions – be they one-off, or ongoing. Email TheWellnessAlmanac@gmail.com.
