Snow in the alpine hit early September, so Dave Steers headed up Whistler Blackcomb, out of the valley, to get a closer look.

I wasn’t sure if one marmot was running in circles around me or if I was encountering different ones but everyone says there are lots and lots of them this summer, way more marmots in the alpine than there have been in years…
