In 2023, Sea to Sky Community Services’ Better at Home program helped 143 seniors stay in their home longer.
The program offers support services to help with simple non-medical day-to-day tasks, making it easier for seniors to stay in their own homes, remain independent, socialize and stay connected to their community.
Do you have a few hours to contribute with light housekeeping, transportation, grocery shopping, friendly visiting, minor home repairs, yard work and snow shoveling, driving to appointments, to enable someone to stay living independently, and in our community, longer?
Loneliness contributes to up to 45,000 deaths annually. Volunteering can help! Everyone.

Sea to Sky Community Services works to bring community members together in a wide range of situations, providing opportunities to find connection and community. The Better at Home program needs volunteers.

The program also organizes Lunch & Learn gatherings for seniors to facilitate the sharing of pleasurable meals and stories and help to build new relationships including cross-cultural friendships.
The success of this program is made possible by volunteers who get to know their senior clients and often build an important bond while also encouraging participation in group activities.
