“Will there be fireworks at the school?” was the logistical question in our house this morning, given the costume question was finally resolved.
Alas, the answer is no, not tonight.
As shared by the Village of Pemberton:

We regret to inform the community that this year, the Pemberton Firefighters Association will not be hosting their traditional Halloween fireworks display. Due to new construction in the area, we can no longer safely hold the event at our previous location as it lies within the regulatory restrictions regarding the minimum distance to a structure.
While we’re disappointed that we won’t be able to light up the Halloween night sky this year, we are committed to working diligently to find an appropriate location for a New Year’s fireworks display, instead.

No doubt there will be many relieved pets in the ‘hood. And hopefully a new site can be found for next year.
I leave you with the wise words of Octavia Butler, which were shared with me as a journaling prompt, and which I’m still mulling over, because frankly, I hate change. At least, too much of it. So, riding with Octavia:
All that you touch
You Change.
All that you Change
Changes you.
The only lasting truth
Is Change.
God
Is Change.
