Pop Up Choir comes to Pemberton Library May 25, all singers invited
I’ve been in love with the idea of a pop-up choir since seeing Choir!Choir!Choir! perform after David Bowie’s passing. Turning the audience into the performer is their motto. And it’s unbelievably moving. I have often felt that what is unique about this region is that it’s very much about getting active, participating, not just sitting on the sidelines.
Not that I’m a great singer. But there’s something about singing in a group that is powerful, and moving, in ways that I’m at a loss to articulate.
So I got a bit goose pimply when I saw that Jeannette Bruce, who has spearheaded Whistler’s Barbed Choir, is bringing the show on the road, with a Pemberton pop-up, to take place at the Pemberton Library on Friday, May 25, at 7pm.
No experience or registration required, just come prepared to sing your heart out.
The song will be posted on the Facebook page, so watch that space.
Who knows what it will awaken in you?
