CPAWS is looking for some radical planet-loving elders – apply by March 18 to attend two free summits on participant-led conservation
Do you have a passion for parks and conservation? Do you live between Vancouver and Lilooet? Are you over 60 years old? If you answered yes! to these questions, then CPAWS-BC invites you to apply for our Take Back the Wild conservation campaign training program.
Take Back the Wild: Raising the Voices of Sea to Sky Seniors is a free program which includes two multi-day summits (April 22-24 at the Brew Creek Centre and June 23-24 at the Cheakamus Centre), mentorship, and participant-led conservation projects.
Take Back the Wild offers hands-on training for BC seniors in engaging and connecting their communities to conservation efforts. You will receive training in a wide range of campaign skills including communications, media relations, community engagement, working with Indigenous communities, and government relations.
You will also learn about our Coast to Cascades Grizzly Bear Initiative and the Stand Up for BC’s Parks campaign. Following the summits, you will apply your new skills to a conservation project in your community.
Take Back the Wild will bring a diverse and passionate group of people together to learn from local leaders in conservation, engage in dialogue on key components of campaign planning, and inspire and celebrate regional conservation in action.
You can apply online until Sunday, March 18th. Please forward this email to anyone you know who might be interested!
If you would like to learn more about the program, please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 604-685-7445 ext. 34. I’m looking forward to building a strong community of conservation ambassadors with you in the Sea to Sky corridor.
