Could we better a more food-secure community? Could we ensure that every single resident had enough fresh food to eat? Could we be a haven for pollinators? Could every kid grow up learning how to garden and grow their own food?
Dawn Johnson and Stewardship Pemberton have been working on the Pemberton Agricultural Parks project in partnership with the Village of Pemberton, to brainstorm ways to put 28 hectares of land currently not being farmed into community hands, and into production.
The research and preliminary work that has been done includes agricultural feasibility studies, best practices for each site, a review of constraints and opportunities, and the generation of recommended uses based on community feedback and the information collected to date.

Sound intriguing? Inspiring? Super progressive? Got questions?
Stewardship Pemberotn and the Village will host an open house on April 28th from 5:30-7:30 at the Village of Pemberton location (Council Chambers in the white building) to share what has been learned so far, gather your feedback and hear your vision on what community agriculture could look like for this progressive project.
