EVENTS Coming up: managing trails, grizzlies, anxiety, community spaces and more

Saturday, April 18: PVTA Trails Day, 9am Meet at the bike Co for breakfast, followed by trail love. Pick up a membership. $10 for individuals, $25 per family.
Sunday, April 19: Stewardship Pemberton invites you to the Pemberton Community Garden for a Blue Dot gathering and a working bee for the new Food Bank plot. Learn about the David Suzuki Foundation’s Blue Dot Tour, for Canadian water, food, and air.
Monday, April 20: Making the Valley More Mentally Healthy Speaker Series on Managing Anxiety. 6:00 – 7:30 pm. Pemberton & District Public Library.
Tuesday, April 21: Managing Anxiety in youth and teens, at Whistler Secondary, 7 – 8:30pm.
Wednesday, April 22: Backcountry Grizzly Bear Awareness & Safety. 7pm-9pm. Pemberton Community Centre Great Hall. Co-hosted by Innergex and the Pemberton Wildlife Association. An evening discussion with wildlife biologist Dr. Sue Senger. The presentation will focus on safe travel in grizzly bear country and will be useful to hunters, hikers and mountain bikers. The goal of this free information session is to provide backcountry enthusiasts with information to reduce their risk when they encounter a grizzly (or black) bear in the wilderness.
Saturday April 25: The Annual Gates Lake Community Park Clean up. 10am-1pm. Free BBQ for all helpers!
Sunday April 26: The Locke Academy a new independent school is hosting a site tour and groundbreaking on the former Hill Academy sit at 4pm – 6:30pm. Kids are welcome to bring bikes to explore nearby trails. Activities include a site tour, bonfire and BBQ. Please RSVP.
Saturday May 2: Women’s Institute Annual Plant and Bake Sale, 9am to noon in the Legion Parking Lot.
