BirdWatch: Trumpeter Swans

Spring is here. Wherever you are in our valley, you can see and hear the Trumpeter Swans on their way North. The Pemberton valley seems to be a popular stop for them. Last year’s potato fields, some fallow grain fields present a tasty snack along the way. What a flying machine these big birds are. swans 005

One can see, how snugly the landing gear is tucked away.

A good number of Mountain Bluebird are here too. Let’s hope some of them use the nest boxes and stay for the summer.
