The Spirit Within Festival is back for the second year in a row with many different programs for all ages.
Some highlights for families over the weekend:
Thursday September 26th
Vancouver Aquarium Aquazone
Are you curious about the Salish Sea? You and your family can learn more about marine invertebrates that live in our shared waters – see and touch artifacts and live animals at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre. Vancouver Aquarium educators will be on hand to answer your questions.
Friday September 27th
Whistler Olympic Plaza
Time: 11am – 4pm
An eclectic mix of artists, performers and crafts throughout the day. This free family-friendly programming will be held at the Olympic Lightning Bolt Welcome Figure by the children’s play ground.
Saturday September 28th
The Raven Celebration
5:30 – 7:00pm – show starts at 6pm.
Bring your family to a traditional dance show. See First Nations Hoop Dancers and Salish drummers, singers and dancers as they tell legends through the art of performance. After the show meet the dancers and learn a little bit about their art and performance.
Featuring:

Le La La Dancers – Traditional Kwakwaka’wakw (pronounced kwa kwa key wok) Dance Company
Dancers of the Damelahamid – The Gitxsan, ‘people of the river of mists’ Dancers

Sunday September 29th
Afternoon Tea and Story-telling
Spend some family time trying traditional teas, bannocks and listening to First Nation’s Storytellers. Dress for the traditional tea in your best traditional tea outfit!
