PROGRESSION SESSIONS BIKE PROGRAM 2013
Zero Ceiling is currently seeking 8 at-risk or financially restricted youth ages 13-18 for the Progression Sessions Bike Program. The Progression Sessions Bike Program provides an opportunity for youth to participate in 6 days of themed mountain biking sessions based on the Circle of Courage model. This model of youth empowerment encompasses four core values: belonging, mastery, independence, and generosity. The central theme of this model is that a set of shared values must exist in any community to create environments that ultimately benefit all.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Zero Ceiling is looking for youth who have a basic level of physical fitness and are comfortable riding a bicycle. Participants are encouraged to have an open mind and positive attitude. We are looking for individuals that will embrace new experiences and are excited about learning new skills. Coaches will be provided each day, challenging the youth to learn about themselves and their bikes.
The Progression Sessions Bike Program will start on Thursday, August 22nd and will run for the following 6 weeks. Bikes and protective gear (full-face helmet, gloves, elbow pads, shin guards and upper body protection) will be provided as required. Participants will need to provide footwear suited for bike pedals and clothing appropriate for exercise and for the weather.
