On the Frontlines: Pemberton Food Bank Shout-Out & Recipe

Post by Louise Stacey-Deegan, Food Bank and HPOP Coordinator, at Sea to Sky Community Services.

February was an exciting month for us at the Food Bank here in Pemberton. We presented one of our Volunteers an amazing award for all her hard work and dedication. Gwen Nelson received The Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal last Thursday at the L.E.A.P Community Dinner at Ullus Centre. It was an honor to be apart of a wonderful evening. Thankyou to Mount Currie for making us welcome.

Here’s a quick and easy recipe to try, from items you can usually get at the Food Bank.

Tuna Bake

Can Tuna – drained
Can Mushroom Soup
2 Cups Cooked Pasta
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce (optional)
1 Cup Frozen/Canned Peas
Salt & Pepper to season
Grated cheese & Breadcrumbs for topping – Optional

Bake in pre heated Oven – 350’ for 30mins.
