This is a shout-out to the Village of Pemberton Council, for granting $1000 from the Community Enhancement Fund to support the Signal Hill Elementary School lunch program.

As reported in this week’s Pique,  10-15 kids come to school every day without lunch and 2-5 have arrived without having had breakfast.

Signal Hill’s lunch program ensures that kids don’t go hungry, so they can learn.

The program is run on donations from the community, because the school does not have a budget for a lunch program.

Well done to the Village for stepping up to help.
