June 15, 2013June 10, 2013Leave a comment

Thank you Johnny Lupinseed. The ditches are so pretty, full of Arctic lupines in pink, purple and white. Whether they were spread by Joe Antonelli, or nature, they're a beautiful sign that it's nearly solstice.

Another response to Nick Davies’ column

June 13, 2013June 13, 20131 Comment

I want to share some of the responses to Nick Davies' column here on the Wellness Almanac, because this blog was conceived in order to provide a forum to slowly bridge the divide between two communities, a divide that deepens with every stereotype that is replayed. Cindy and Mo said it well in their letter … Continue reading Another response to Nick Davies’ column

Why Nick Davies’ column bothers me

June 13, 2013June 13, 20134 Comments

Update from IronMan Canada

May 18, 2013May 16, 2013Leave a comment

Executive summary: there will be traffic impacts on August 25. We're just not 100% sure how/why/when. (Read between the lines: either plan to participate as a volunteer or spectator and enjoy the event, or make sure you're fully stocked for life supplies and don't need to make a mad dash to the store.) As you … Continue reading Update from IronMan Canada

Tomorrow is International Sunflower Guerilla Gardening Day. Are you ready?

April 30, 2013April 7, 2013Leave a comment

Seven years ago, guerrilla gardeners in Brussels decared 1 May the day for people all everywhere to go out beyond our gardens and plant sunflower seeds in the hope that they will bring beauty and health to our neighbourhoods. Do you know of somewhere that could use a little sunshine?
