Look up! Full Moon Tonight

Go outside and look up! It might be a mini-moon (according to earthsky.org, tonight's full moon is the smallest full moon of the year, farthest from the Earth than the closest full moon, that will be the September 28 Harvest Moon), but it's still beautiful. And PS Happy World Book Day.

Seasonal Observations: Bees!

The ultimate blessing I can imagine bestowing on our community: may we be forever bee-friendly, may we be visited by happy pollinators, may all living things flourish, may there be honey. Thanks to Tanya Richman for sharing these shots of some early visitors appreciating this weird weather.

Birdwatch: a Meadows merlin sighting

Linda Welsh spotted this merlin (Falco columbarius or pigeon hawk) on February 10 and managed to capture the shot from 15 feet away, and gave us permission to share the catch.
