The Wellness Almanac sprouted initially, 12 years ago, from a grant to support communications outreach from the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation. I was invited to help with a copywriting project – to make the beautiful Winds of Change: A Healing Vision document digestible. I reported back to Sheldon Tetreault, who was Chair of the Winds of Change Steering Committee, and had reached out with the task, “I don’t think I can do that.” There was nothing I could do to improve on the document, that had arisen out of the heartfelt and courageous work of the first ever Pemberton/Mount Currie Drug and Alcohol Task Force. “But I have an idea.” Over at the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, Mei Madden continues to be a fairy godmother for many of the big ideas and hopes and dreams of the Sea to Sky corridor, and the funds she and her superstar team (and all the people she strong-arms into being supporters, volunteers, contributors) make such a difference.
Tickets are on sale now for their signature fundraiser TELUS Winter Classic. It’s an incredible way to be part of the most meaningful work that takes place all throughout our communities. And have a great time while you’re at it.
