The nomination period for the annual B.C. Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Awards is now open and will close on November 29 at 11:59pm PST.
Nominations can be submitted online on the B.C. Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Awards page.
The organizational and individual award categories are as follows:
· Intercultural Trust Award (2 awards): Provided to an outstanding individual or organization for their work in building intercultural trust and understanding and/or reducing racism and hate between communities.
· Breaking Barriers Award (2 awards): Provided to an outstanding individual or organization for their work in tackling systemic or institutional racism and reducing barriers for marginalized communities.
The individual award category for a youth/young adult is as follows:
· Emerging Leader Award (1 award): Provided to an outstanding youth/young adult, aged 15 to 30, for their work in building intercultural trust, tackling racism, or reducing barriers for marginalized communities. This award includes a $5,000 grant for the youth recipient to donate to a non-profit organization of their choice.
