Salmon, Climate Change and the Future: free talk at the One Mile Lake Nature Centre, Saturday Nov 4, Walk at 10am, Talk at 4pm

What is the future of salmon?

Gillian Steele, Community Advisor from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, is the guest speaker at two events on Saturday, at One Mile Lake Nature Centre, hosted by Stewardship Pemberton.

Walk at 10am, or talk at 4pm, and learn more about this keystone species and the places we live and recreate and how they interrelate.

Gillian will share her expertise, insights and provide valuable information for anyone interested in the future of salmon.

Gillian has always had a love for fish and is an avid angler who targets many different species throughout the year. Her passion for salmonids was fostered as a child following her father around countless rivers throughout BC. Gillian has been lucky enough to grow up in the Lower Mainland and has spent countless hours in the Sea to Sky region throughout her life. Having recently been hired as the region’s CA, Gillian is looking forward to reaching out to the community and sharing the importance of salmon to local ecosystems as well as their significance to British Columbia as a whole.

Discover the challenges salmon face in a changing environment and learn about potential solutions.
