Here’s what’s not new: Joffre Lakes Provincial Park has grown in popularity as an outdoor recreation and camping destination.
That pressure we’ve all noticed has been numbered by the province as 170,000+ visitors annually.
Obviously, this growth has resulted in concerns around impacts to the park environment, visitor experience, and public safety.
So, the news: BC Parks is moving forward with the development of a Visitor Use Management Strategy for the park, in collaboration with the Lil’wat and N’Quatqua Nations, and through consultation with local governments, recreational users and other stakeholders.
Inform the strategy with your insights, ideas and concerns, through a short survey, open until April 30.
