I took a (new to me) shortcut to a friend’s house the other day, and, like a tourist, stopped to read the sign about the Arn Canal.
Sometimes, (a lot of the time), I realised, I walk around as if I have blinkers on. Busy busy busy. Focussed on my to-do list and wherever I’m going. And because of that, I miss an awful lot.
That’s what I love about interpretive signs. They give you a reason to stop. A little bit of insight into what you’re actually seeing. So that next time, you look with slightly different eyes.
(It inspired me to start a new series for the Wellness Almanac – featuring intepretive signs. (Kind of like interpretive dance, but less likely to make you squirm in your seat…))
Got one? Share it. (Got an idea for a series? We’d love to hear from you.)
