Our Wellness Almanac contributors, Gary and Zoé Martin, have been supporters of the Pemberton BMX track with Gary wielding both rake and design skills to help, and Zoé nominating the track for the Kraft Celebration Tour.

On 30th June, the good news came down! The nomination was successful and we were in the Top 20 out of 629 communities across Canada. We are now matched against Invermere for a community vote, that will see either Pemberton or Invermere win $25,000.

On Thursday 11th July Pemberton, BC will go head to head in a voting match up against Invermere, BC for a chance to win $25,000 for Pemberton BMX; to host a live TSN SportsCentre broadcast; and to host a Community Celebration including a Kraft sponsored BBQ, provided free to the public, with a Family Fun Zone featuring a number of fun, interactive activities provided by Kraft Celebration Tour brands.

$25,000 could make a a great boost for the track, which was built by a small core group of volunteers with the aim of growing a fun BMX community for locals and traveling racers alike. The start hill has also been designed to double up as a snow skills park in the winter, thanks to funding support from the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation.

 So spread the word, friends. Share the attached poster. And bookmark 9am, July 11 as a day to be in front of your computer, so you can rock the vote for the Pemberton BMX Track.
