We look forward to regular updates from Louise Stacey-Deegan at the Pemberton Food Bank – because it’s good to remember that, just because Christmas is long-past, the need for a helping hand hasn’t subsided. Here’s the first. (In the meantime, “like” Sea to Sky Community Services on facebook to stay in the loop.)
The Pemberton Food Bank was taken under the wing of Sea to Sky Community Services in July 2010 as SSCS employees identified a great need for a Food Bank in the area.
Initially operating out of Sea to Sky Community Services’ main office, numbers soon increased so substantially that the Food Bank was moved to its present location: #6 1366 Aster Street, Pemberton.
The Pemberton Food Bank serves clients from 8 Communities in and around Pemberton and Mount Currie reaching as far as Birken, Darcy, N’Qua, Skatin, Samaquam, and Tipella.
We help around 200 people every other Monday, with a few Emergency Food items handed out on other days. Out of those numbers around 1/3 are Children.
We are always looking for Donations of Non Perishable Food items, Toiletries, Diapers, Fresh Produce when in season.
