Ama sqit Nsneknukwa7. I just listened to U2’s “Its A Beautiful Day…Don’t let it get away”. Gotta love the hint of fall in the air eh? Leaves are falling, salmon arriving, chilly nites.

I spent quality time in the river today at our salmon survey site. I’m pleased to say that as of September 2, Sunday at midnite, we counted 26,511 sockeye salmon in the Birkenhead River!

We successfully completed the 1st of 3 Annual Birkenhead River Chinook Salmon Walk, held annually on September 5th, 12th and 19th. Essentially this is a coordinated river walk that covers the spawning grounds. A truck-load of roses of gratitude to the volunteers for joining on the walk.
