Pemberton Goes to World Outrigger Sprint Championships!

Not only does Pemberton have an amazing, championship winning dragon boat program, offered through the Pemberton Canoe Association, they can now add outrigger racing to the mix.

At the recent 2012 Canadian National Outrigger Team time trials held in Burnaby, 18 youth and 9 adults from Pemberton qualified and were selected to compete on Canada’s National Outrigger team. The team are currently attending the 15th World Va’a (Outrigger) Sprint Championships in Calgary, Alberta from August 7-15, 2012.
