Ran into this little fella (but not over him) riding on the trails around Mosquito Lake on Saturday. Snake expert, Leslie Anthony, identified him for us as a Valley Gartersnake (Thamnophis sirtalis fitchii), a subspecies of the Common Gartersnake.
