I remember once I came across a hiker who was clearly having that type of “emergency”. She was in a cold sweat, walking funny, with a desperate look in her eye. Thankfully we were right by a big thicket of thimbleberry bushes. I pointed them out to her and told her what they could be used for. She thanked me and disappeared into the bushes. I heard a loud sigh of relief, along with some other loud noises, at which point I thought it best to continue on my way and give her some privacy.
