Shout Out: The Feker Family

I’m a private person, my running companion actually described my husband and I as ‘asocial’ on our run on Monday. She’s right. I like people, love talking with people, I ask a lot of questions but I’m not so into the group camping, group dinners, or group weekend stuff. I am fortunate enough to live on 3+ acres with a certain amount of privacy – quite fitting with my a-sociality. I let the dog out in my pjs. Heck, I walk around my property in my pjs, much to the chagrin of the blueberry pickers next door, I’m sure:) Where is this going… I went for a run with my bestest running companion on Monday, she called me ‘asocial’, I agreed. We ran the Valley Loop – oh so lovely! The trail is open, soft and easy to run. The brush along the Lillooet River has been cleared to make the trail wider (chariot sized, I am told). The trail runs behind farms and condos and I bet those people also like to walk around in their pjs. (See where I’m going here?) Enjoy the trail people, don’t litter, pick up yer dog poop and if you can – give the people who live along it their privacy and take the trail closer to the river instead of up on the dyke. Keep your dogs close or if you have a dog like mine (he suffers from exercise induced hearing loss) keep them leashed or leave them at home.
I’d like to give a big ol’ shout out to the Feker Family for re-opening the last section of trail and a big thank you to all the other families who may have their time at home interrupted by the occasional runner, biker, walker or rider.
