Shout Out: The Whistler Blackcomb Foundation

The all-star technicolour team at the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation is busy preparing for its annual winter fundraising event, the 20th TELUS Winter Classic.

This summer, they raised $115,000 at the TELUS Golf Classic for local non-profits, adding to last winter’s  incredible $190,000.

Thanks to these funds, the Foundation was able to grant $300,000 to help regional schools upgrade their technology, $30,000 to the Signal Hill Elementary School to build an intermediate playground, money to fund the purchase of a new snowmobile for Pemberton Search and Rescue, a washer and dryer for the Pemberton Children’s Centre and a new commercial stove for the Pemberton Legion, to build a winter jib park in Pemberton, as well as grants to the Xet’olacw school’s JUMP start math program and Pemberton Secondary’s Outdoor Program.

A grant from the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation also made this website, The Wellness Almanac, possible.

So THANK YOU to the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, Mei McCurdy and her event team, and to all those patrons of the community heading out to the TELUS Winter Classic next month.

The ripple effect of that one day out is absolutely massive.

(PS Show your appreciation for the Foundation, and “like” them on facebook.)
