Sighted: Coyote

There’s one patch of sunlight in the yard, beaming down like a spotlight, centre stage. Enter, stage right, from the long grass, Coyote. The trickster.

Coyote, or Canis latrans, (“barking dog” in Latin) is possibly responsible for the late night ruckuses in the neighbourhood.

We admired each other for a few minutes – there are no infants, cats, or sheep around for me to be worried about, and then, he took his exit. “Go on then. Get on your way,” and with a twitch, he was gone.
