Slow Food Cycle Sunday – August 19, 2012 – 8am to 3pm

One of Pemberton’s signature events is on this weekend – Slow Food Cycle Sunday! August 19, 2012  – 8am-3pm

Jump on your bike and enjoy a leisurely cruise up the Meadows to meet local growers and sample produce fresh from the fields; as well as, take in the beautiful scenery of the valley.

The World Watch Institute reports that the average food item eaten in North America has traveled 2500-4000 km from farm to table. The distance between good food and your table is as short as a 50km bike ride. Please note that depending on the number of participants, you may arrive at a farm to find that the food has run out. Prepare for this by bringing along some snacks to sustain you.

Come out and register for FREE on event day in the Village of Pemberton – registration area is located at the Farmer Marketplace on Frontier Street. Check the Map and Vendors list for the latest stops!

Slow Food Cycle Sunday is:

Good for your carbon credits

A scenic bike ride on a flat, paved road

A sensory smorgasboard!
