The Winds of Change Steering Committee has established the Winds of Change Bursary for 2013.
The Committee will award two bursaries in the amount of $500 each to one graduating student from Pemberton Secondary School and one student from Xit’olacw Community School who will be pursuing post-secondary studies.
The bursary will be awarded to a student who best exemplifies that they are a good role model in school and in their community and who demonstrates safe and healthy lifestyle choices. The student will be an active member of the school community – one who participates, is engaged in events and shows a positive attitude to school and peers.
The application deadline is May 1, 2013.
Applications should include a letter detailing the student’s contributions to the school/community, volunteerism and post secondary plans, and be accompanied by a recommendation from a school faculty member, community group or employer outlining how the student exemplifies the mission of the Winds of Change:
“We are neighbours, friends and relatives working together to reduce the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol on our communities. We RESPECT our differences and find STRENGTH in the common goal of a healthy and safe environment for our children and families.”
