Holiday Survival Guide: Wellness Tip #5 Make a List

I’ve been obsessed with list-making of late… attempting to master the art of the to-do list, in order to be more productive, more present, and more peaceful. The solution has been to keep the list to 3 things. Tops.

I’m mostly making a mess of it.

But it’s a good practice of prioritisation. (Practice being a thing required before even the hint of perfection can be attained, right?)

Still, I was excited to read a friend’s list of 100 favourite things the other day. And to discover that, despite my initial gasp (100! Couldn’t she have just picked out 3? I don’t think I have time to read a list of 100 things), that it’s really a tiny collection of lovely moments and memories and signals a mindset of gratitude.

So, I thought I’d break my three-things-only rule (again) and pen my own. As a holiday project.

It might take me all week. But I’m okay with that, too.

And this might be the perfect moment to give thanks to the Wellness Almanac’s contributors, readers, followers, supporters, friends and funders for another year. Yep. I think that is my Item #1. This project, too, is a practice – a daily practice of observation, connection and desire to build stronger, healthier, more resilient and integrated communities here in our beautiful villages. One post, one contributor, one reader, one little step at a time.
